ADEN, Yemen
- Yemenia has restricted its daily flight operations to 0600L–1800L (0300Z–1500Z) as a precaution against security risks to civil airports, aircraft and passengers, as Houthi attacks escalate.
- Yemenia spokesman Hatem Al-Shuaibi said night flights were suspended because of the security situation. He said the airline will keep operating within its means and under its safety procedures, including to destinations in Houthi-controlled areas.
- The move follows nine attacks on Aden (ADE) and Riyan Mukalla (RIY) airports last month: seven missile attacks on Aden and two on Riyan.
- The attacks disrupted air traffic. One of them injured two civilians and damaged the runway at Aden, which reopened after repairs.
- The security risks have also led Yemenia to reroute some flights via Djibouti (JIB).
- Fly Aden has extended its suspension of flights to and from Aden until 8 November, covering Jeddah (JED), Cairo (CAI), Amman (AMM), and Dammam (DMM).
- Yemenia's commercial planning schedules for 30 October–3 November 2026 show three Airbus A320s flying an Aden-centred network. They serve Seiyun (GXF), Riyan Mukalla, and Socotra (SCT) domestically, and Cairo, Jeddah, Amman, and Dammam internationally.
- From 1 November, every scheduled departure from and arrival at a Yemeni airport falls within the 0600L–1800L window. Overnight flights from Cairo, Jeddah and Amman are timed to arrive from 0600L.
- The 31 October schedule still included an Aden–Jeddah departure at 1830L (1530Z) on IY508.
- A Yemenia rotation between Aden and Djibouti (IY620/621) was scheduled for 30 October but cancelled.
