- The criminal chamber specialized in financial corruption cases at the Tunis Court of First Instance postponed to October the hearing of an administrative corruption and abuse of power case involving a sister-in-law of late president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, an unidentified former Tunisair CEO, and other persons.
- The postponement decision awaits the outcome of the cassation appeal filed in the case to determine the judicial procedure for upcoming hearings.
- The case involves suspicions of administrative irregularities, abuse of power, undue advantages and damage to the administration.
- The court will continue examining the case at a hearing scheduled for October.
- Multiple former Tunisair CEOs have faced prosecution for administrative irregularities and illegal favoritism granted to Ben Ali's relatives including Nabil Chettaoui, Tahar Haj Ali, and Rafaa Dkhil (who was the last Tunisair CEO under the Ben Ali regime and who also served as Minister of Communication).
