SYRIA: FlyDar Aviation Awarded AOC; Preps For Launch
DAMASCUS, Syria
- Syrian Civil Aviation Authority awarded FlyDar Aviation its Air Operator's Certificate.
- FlyDar becomes the first carrier certified in the post-Assad period.
- The start-up holds one 737-500, (MSN 28996 ¦ YK-SYR), currently operated by Syrianair.
- Chairman Captain Mohsen Yahya Al-Salal said operational preparations have started and launch is near.
- FlyDar will connect Damascus with Aleppo, Latakia, Deir ez-Zor and Qamishli.
- State-owned Syrianair and private Fly Cham are Syria's two mainline carriers.
