KHARTOUM, Sudan

  • Sudan Airways (SD/SUD) has resumed scheduled flights with its only aircraft, Airbus A320-214 (MSN 3040 | ST-MKW), after completing technical maintenance.
  • The state-owned carrier announced the completion of the maintenance work on its official Facebook page, describing it as a step towards resuming flights, and thanked passengers for their patience during the stoppage.
  • According to Sudanese outlets reporting on the statement, the airline said its technical team had completed all requirements needed for full operational readiness and that it was resuming its scheduled flights.
  • Flightradar24 data shows ST-MKW operated flight SD104 from Port Sudan New International Airport (PZU) to Cairo International Airport (CAI) on 3 November, followed by return flight SD105 from Cairo to Port Sudan on 4 November.
  • Sudan Airways had suspended all flights after withdrawing the aircraft from service over a technical malfunction on 30 October, as Inside Aviation News reported.
  • At the time, sources cited by Sudanese media said the fault was limited, but the required spare part was not available inside Sudan, which prevented immediate repairs. The airline cancelled bookings on flights scheduled for the aircraft, including the Cairo–Khartoum service.
  • The carrier has not disclosed the nature of the fault, the part that was replaced or where the maintenance was carried out.
  • Sudan Airways' network links Port Sudan, Khartoum International Airport (KRT), Cairo and King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
  • Inside Aviation News attempted to contact Sudan Airways for comment.
