KHARTOUM, Sudan

- Sudan Airways plans to establish the Sudanair Academy for Aviation Sciences in cooperation with higher education institutions to localize specialized aviation training inside Sudan and qualify national cadres.
- Capt. Mazen Al-Awad, Sudan Airways General Manager, made the announcement during a meeting at the airline's Khartoum headquarters with a delegation from the Sudanese Universities Union.
- He stated the proposed academy will deliver specialized programs covering pilot trainingg, aviation engineering, aviation medicine, air operations, air cargo, reservations and ticketing, air hospitality, tourism and hotels, as well as other aviation-related fields.
- The academy seeks to build effective partnerships with higher education institutions, deliver affordable education inside Sudan and reduce overseas training assignments.
- The project forms part of Sudan Airways' drive to develop specialized training systems, invest in national cadres and link academic education with the practical needs of the air transport sector.
- Earlier this week, Prime Minister Kamel Idris received a briefing on Sudan Airways' future plans, projects and reconstruction efforts after the airline resumed operations from Khartoum.
