KHARTOUM, Sudan

- Badr Airlines says its aircraft catering unit at Khartoum International Airport resumed operations on Tuesday, 6 October after a stoppage of more than three years.
- Badr Airlines catering unit director Ahmed Abdel Baqi expressed happiness at the return of operations from Khartoum airport, describing the step as carrying many memories and hope for a better tomorrow.
- Abdel Baqi said the return represents a new beginning, wishing success to his colleagues and that the step be the start of a new phase of stability and success, and the full return of life to Khartoum airport and Sudan.
- The return of the catering unit comes in conjunction with ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and restore aviation-related services to the battered capital airport which sustained heavy damage during fighting in 2023.
- Since then, Badr Airlines has also established a modern aircraft catering unit at Port Sudan airport. Both the Khartoum and Port Sudan catering firms have obtained international quality certificates.
