- Engineer Mosety Kat, newly appointed Director General of the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority, pledged to strengthen aviation safety regulations, inspections and enforcement.

- Kat said the Authority will strengthen risk-based regulatory oversight, inspection, enforcement and compliance.
- The approach covers conventional operations and drone activity.
- Operators and drone users must meet established safety standards, with stronger inspection and enforcement.
- Kat said operators, drone activity and regulatory work must meet required standards.
- Oversight will move from post-incident response to pre-emptive risk management.
- Regulatory work will follow public safety expectations and international aviation standards.
- Kat said his focus is to speed up more efficient frameworks for the modernisation and expansion of Juba International Airport.
