SAUDI ARABIA: Swissport, Riyadh Air To Launch Kingdom’s First Load Control Centre
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia
- Swissport and Riyadh Air signed a long-term partnership to open the Kingdom’s first Centralized Load Control centre in Riyadh.
- The centre will handle load planning, weight and balance calculations and load documentation for all Riyadh Air flights.
- Operations start within eight months and will support the airline’s domestic and international network.
- Swissport and Riyadh Air will fund knowledge transfer and training to build local expertise.
- Dirk Goovaerts, CEO Continental Europe, Middle East, Africa, India and Global Cargo Chair at Swissport, said the centre brings specialised expertise to Riyadh Air operations and creates Saudi skill-building opportunities.
- Hamad Alhemede, CEO of Swissport Saudi Arabia, said the centre adds load control to the company’s Saudi portfolio and uses Swissport Academy training.
- Pankaj Handa, VP Ground Operations at Riyadh Air, said the partnership develops sustainable operational capabilities inside the Kingdom.
- Swissport has operated in Saudi Arabia for ten years and employs more than 6,000 staff at 20 airports.
