DAMMAM, Saudi Arabia

  • The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced that on the evening of Sunday, 11 October 2026, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam was targeted by an attack, amid continued attacks on civil aviation facilities in the Kingdom by Houthi militiae in Yemen.
  • GACA said damage assessments and safety inspections of airport facilities are underway, in coordination with relevant authorities.
  • The aerodrome is open and is seeing limited commercial traffic — primarily from Saudia — as of 12 October.
  • Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree has since confirmed the targeting of the airfield alongside Riyadh Airport, the Shaqadam gas station belonging to Aramco, the Aramco Tanajib oil refinery in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, and other places.
  • The US Federal Aviation Administration has issued a NOTAM warning US carriers and US-registered aircraft to exercise extreme caution when operating in the Jeddah (OEJD) FIR at all flight altitudes due to regional military activity and potential security risks.
  • The Houthis had earlier warned that with the exception of Jeddah (which serves Mecca) and Medina, it would continue targeting airports across Saudi Arabia.
