OMAN: CAA Signs Air Service Agreements With Botswana, Angola
MUSCAT, Oman
- Oman signed an Air Services Agreement with Botswana during the State Visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
- Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, signed for Oman and Keoagile Atamelang, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, signed for Botswana.
- The agreement regulates operational and technical aspects of air transport services between the two countries on open-skies principles allowing unlimited direct flights.
- The agreement comprises 23 articles covering economic principles of air transport, regulatory and technical cooperation in civil aviation, a route schedule for passenger and cargo services, and code sharing arrangements.
- Anwar bin Hilal Al Jabri, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, signed for Oman and Téte António, Minister of External Relations, signed for Angola.
- The Civil Aviation Authority expands Oman’s network of air transport agreements to support air transport movement and civil aviation cooperation worldwide.
- The agreement with Angola is based on open-skies principles allowing designated airlines unlimited direct flights between the countries.
- There are currently no scheduled flights, either passenger or cargo, between Oman and either of Angola or Botswana
