MAURITANIA: Mauritania Airlines to Sell Off Embraer Fleet

NOUAKCHOTT, Mauritania

  • Mauritania Airlines International is preparing to sell off its existing Embraer fleet which consists of two Embraer E175s, (MSN 17000791 | 5T-CLO) and (MSN 17000786 | 5T-CLL), and one ERJ-145LR, (MSN 14500852 | 5T-CLD).
  • The E175s are both 7.5 years old while the E145 is 22 years old. All three are currently out of service. If and when the jets are disposed of, the state-owned carrier will retain an all-Boeing fleet of one 737-700, one 737-800, and one 737 MAX 8.

  • The Ministry of Equipment and Transport has issued an international call for expressions of interest, AMI 007/CPMP/MET/2026, and seen by insideaviation.news, for an independent firm to value the three aircraft and set the technical basis for a reserve price.
  • The firm must audit the technical and airworthiness files, inspect each aircraft, and give a current market value, a base value and a quick-sale value. It must also price a parting-out case and the cost of maintenance, certification, storage, ferry or dismantling before a sale.
  • The job is set at eight weeks from award. The lead appraiser must be accredited by the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT), or hold an equivalent accreditation such as the American Society of Appraisers, with at least eight years in commercial-aircraft valuation and at least ten valuations in the past five years. Embraer ERJ-145 or E-Jet experience is an advantage.
  • Scoring gives 50 per cent to Embraer sales experience, 30 per cent to general aircraft-sale work, and 10 per cent each to the lead appraiser and to technical capacity. A firm needs 60 per cent to be ranked. No fee is required at this stage. The top-ranked firm is then invited to bid.
  • The fee cannot be tied to the sale price or to the choice of buyer. The firm and its affiliates cannot buy the aircraft, or broker them, during the job and for 24 months after the final report.
  • Files, in French or English, are due by 1200L on 2 November 2026 at the ministry in Sebkha, Nouakchott. The contact is commission.vente.embraers@mauritaniaairlines.mr. The notice is signed by Mohamed Lehdiana, president of the ad hoc commission.
