- Libya's Civil Aviation Authority (LYCAA) has restricted Sirte Gulf International Airport (SRX/HLGS) to domestic flights only, effective October 12, 2026 to October 26, 2026.

- The air traffic control tower is also not continuously staffed or active. Pilots or airlines must request tower services in advance if they need them.
- Additionally, runway 18/36 is completely closed because of active works.
- Located midway between Tripoli and Benghazi along Libya's Mediterranean coast line, Sirte Gulf Airport sees limited passenger traffic - primarily domestic flights to either of Libya's principle cities.
