LIBYA: Crown Airlines Secures A320s, to Resume Ops
TRIPOLI, Libya
- Libya's Crown Airlines and lessor Avolon completed the purchase agreement for an Airbus A320 currently operated by the carrier.
- The aircraft in question is (MSN 4023 ¦ 5A-TAJ), a 17 year-old airframe that entered service with the privately-owned Libyan carrier in 2023. Crown's only aircraft at this point, 5A-TAJ is currently undergoing refurbishment and maintenance ahead of its return to scheduled service.
- The parties also reached a preliminary agreement for one additional A320 by the first quarter of 2027.
- Both sides discussed and aligned on Crown Airlines' five-year business plan.
- The plan supports fleet growth, network expansion and overall development.
