LEBANON: MEA expects A321XLRs, A330neo from 4Q 2026; FlyBeirut due from June 2027
- President Joseph Aoun met MEA Chairman Mohammed Al-Hout to review Rafic Hariri International Airport traffic and carrier performance.
- Al-Hout stated first batch of four Airbus A321neo(XLR) and A330-900neo aircraft arrives from November. Second batch of four aircraft scheduled before mid-2027. According to Airbus's August 2026 filings, MEA still has five out of fifteen A321neo Family jets still on order alongside four A330-900neo. Its current fleet also entails ten A320ceo and four A330-200s.
- Aoun said the A330neo will serve the Beirut-New York route for which the Lebanese government has since started preparing for.
- Meanwhile, MEA's planned low-cost carrier Fly Beirut's launch is planned for June 2027 with three aircraft acquired and three more in preparation.
