KUWAIT: Jazeera Airways selects CFM LEAP-1A engines for nine A320neo; expands engine services agreement
KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait
- Jazeera Airways selected LEAP-1A engines from CFM International to power nine additional A320neo. Airbus's August 2026 order book shows the LCC has eighteen more A320neo and eight A321neo Family jets still due.
- The Kuwaiti budget carrier expanded its existing engine services agreement to cover its current and future fleet of twenty-nine A320neo family aircraft plus spare engines.
- Jazeera Airways CEO Parathan Basubathy said the selection reflects continued confidence in CFM technology, reliability and support, and will aid fleet expansion and operational efficiency.
- In May 2018 Jazeera Airways became the first Middle East airline to operate A320neo aircraft with LEAP-1A engines.
- The airline currently operates eleven A320neo with LEAP-1A engines and thirteen A320ceo with CFM56-5B engines.
