TEL AVIV, Israel

- Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is set to win a USD 905.7 million contract to convert six Boeing 767s into refuelling aircraft for the Indian Air Force.
- IAI is the only bidder approved in the Indian government tender which also saw Russian and European firms participate.
- At least 30 percent of the work will be performed in India with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) as local partner.
- IAI operates Aerospace Services India (ASI) subsidiary in New Delhi since March 2024 with 50 employees in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
- ASI is the sole entity involved with the Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) system for India's army, air force and navy.
- The Indian Air Force currently operates six Ilyushin Il-78 aerial tankers that do not meet its quality and quantity needs.
- The 767 contract ranks among the largest between Israel and India after the 2017 Barak 8 (MRSAM) sales worth USD 1.6 billion and USD 630 million.
