CAIRO, Egypt
- Egypt's Sky Vision Airlines is targeting a fleet of around 50 aircraft by 2030, backed by an estimated USD 700 million investment.
- The carrier currently operates nine aircraft and aims for 14 by the end of 2026, with an interim target of 20 aircraft during 2027 through leasing.
- Sky Vision's current fleet entails five A320-200s (with a sixth pax-configured one imminent) averaging almost 20 years of age and four A321-200s. These include one A320-200(P2F) and two A321-200(P2F)s. All are leased.
- Vice CHairman Salah Helmy said the airline currently runs around 186 weekly flights and operates charters to roughly 25 domestic and international destinations.
- The carrier possesses UK and EASA certifications. As such, aside from its own scheduled flights, it also dabbles in the ACMI niche. At least two A320s operate Germany-Hurghada charters for Nile Air while another has also operated select services for Air Cairo.
- Contracting manager Donya Rashed indicated the fleet is expected to reach 10 aircraft in the near term, rising to 14 by year-end once additional contracts are finalised.
- Vice executive president Omar Gharib said planned domestic services will use a low-cost model, with a base fare covering the flight only and extras such as meals and baggage offered separately.
- The airline recently launched cargo operations with one A321 connecting Sharjah, Djibouti, Istanbul, Luxor, Mogadishu, Ras al Khaimah, and Mumbai while another connects Cairo with Benghazi, Misrata, and Sharjah. Other cargo destinations include Frankfurt Hahn, N'Djamena, Port Sudan, and Kuwait City.
- For 2027, Sky Vision is targeting added leisure flights from Germany and Italy to Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada.
