EGYPT: Seven Consortia Qualify To Bid For Hurghada Airport Management

- Seven international and Egyptian companies and consortia qualified for the Hurghada International Airport development, operation and management project.
- Qualified bidders are Corporación América Airports S.A., H.V.H. Utilities Holding B.V., the Egis Airport Operation S.A. and El Sewedy Electric S.A.E. consortium, the Fraport AG and Slentel Global Limited consortium, Incheon International Airport Corporation, the TAV Havalimanlari Holding A.S. and Assubur Consult consortium, the Vinci Airports S.A.S. and Orascom Construction S.A.E. consortium, and Zurich Airport International AG.
- The model keeps state ownership of airport assets while allowing private sector operational and financing input.
- Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny confirmed the partnership structure excludes asset sales.
