CAIRO, Egypt

- EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman Ahmed Adel said the carrier will receive four new aircraft by year-end: three Boeing 737 MAX 8s and one Airbus A350.
- EgyptAir is negotiating with lessor AerCap for additional widebody aircraft on lease.
- During the recently ended second Alamein International Aviaton and Space Exhibition, Adel told Egyptian television channel CBC that EgyptAir has taken four 737 MAX 8s this year and will take four more by year-end, for eight. It has taken four A350-900s; the fifth is due in mid-October against an order for 16, with the last of that batch due in 2031.
- A 34-aircraft package — 18 737 MAX and 16 A350-1000 — is intended to cover the next three to five years. Adel ruled out the A380 after Airbus halted production and said the A350-1000 offers 25–30% better economics for similar work.
- Management is revising the fleet plan, subject to civil aviation ministry approval: 125 aircraft before 2030 instead of 97, then 200 by 2035\. An RFP to manufacturers and lessors is due in the coming months. He said some operators are waiting six to seven years and that OEMs do not expect the backlog to clear before 2035.
- The first A350 entered service a week after arrival; the second of the type in three days; the third in two. EgyptAir has hired 110 pilots, opened a further intake of about 110–120 this month, and is recruiting cabin crew toward 300 to cover long-haul including Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.
- State-owned EgyptAir's fleet currently consists of eight A320neo, seven A321neo, four A330-300s, four A350-900s, thirty 737-800s, four 737 MAX 8s, three 777-300ERs, and eight 787-9s. EgyptAir is also refurbishing 19 aircraft cabins (business, economy, lavatories, galleys), Adel added, with one - a 2007/8-build aircraft, already completed.
