EGYPT: Cairo Airport's new Terminal 4 Attracts Five Bidders

- Egypt prepares Terminal 4 at Cairo International Airport with $5 billion investment.
- Cairo International Airport currently operates three passenger terminals - 1, 2, 3 - with a design capacity of about 28 million passengers per year. The Ministry of Aviation aims to reach approximately 31 million passengers per annum by the end of 2026.
- New Terminal 4 designed for 40 million passengers annually.
- Five international consortia express interest in the project including: Hassan Allam with Samsung, CSCEC of China, Orascom Construction-led Egyptian-Turkish group, Arab Contractors with Concord and Kharafi Group, and Al Marasem of Bin Laden Group with French partner.
- Dar Al-Handasah appointed consultant and designer, with design completion targeted for early 2027.
- Project covers aircraft stands, operational facilities, air navigation systems and commercial zones.
