WASHINGTON, United States

- The United States Department of Transportation (US DOT) has approved an application from Bahraini cargo airline Texel Air for two round-trip cargo flights between Bahrain and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).
- The flights are for the US Navy in Bahrain (CTF-53) and can be operated between 28 October and 23 December 2026, according to the US DOT's weekly list of applications filed for the week ending 30 October.
- The approval is dated 26 October. The application, made under Part 375 of the US federal aviation regulations (14 CFR Part 375), was listed as pending in the previous week's report, which said the flights would carry aircraft and aviation parts for the US Navy.
- Texel Air has a second application pending with the US DOT to operate up to 12 one-way or round-trip cargo charter flights between points outside the United States and points in the United States.
- Flightradar24 data shows Texel Air Boeing 737-800 freighter (MSN 30672 | A9C-JNC) flying from Bahrain to Aviano (AVB), Italy, on 28 October as XLR810, then on to Keflavik (KEF), Iceland, and Washington Dulles, landing on 29 October.
- The aircraft left IAD on 30 October as XLR811 for Keflavik. On 1 November it flew from Keflavik towards Burgas (BOJ), Bulgaria, but diverted to Warsaw (WAW), before flying back to Bahrain.
- Texel Air operates three Boeing 737-800 freighters and two 737-700 convertibles, according to Planespotters.
- No details of the US Navy contract behind the flights have been published.
- Texel Air is a subsidiary of Bahrain-based Chisholm Enterprises.
