MANAMA, Bahrain

- Bridgepoint, GFH Bank (GFH) and AIP Capital have announced a partnership to acquire next-generation commercial aircraft engines.
- GFH joined as strategic partner to scale a diversified portfolio of over USD 1 billion in commercial aircraft engines.
- The partnership started in 2024 with an initial portfolio of LEAP-1B engines and added an agreement for eleven further LEAP-1B engines from CFM International in July 2026.
- GFH committed capital as cornerstone investor alongside Bridgepoint funds.
- The partners will raise capital from institutional and private wealth investors to reach the USD 1 billion target.
- The platform will acquire next-generation and current-generation engines and lease them to airlines, maintenance repair and overhaul providers and other operators.
- Investments will occur via direct manufacturer purchases, sale-and-leaseback deals, secondary acquisitions and finance leases.
- AIP Capital will lead sourcing, asset management and trading using its technical, legal and servicing capabilities.
- Aircraft engines provide diversification supported by long-term structural demand and demand drivers that differ from broader macroeconomic cycles.
- Extended maintenance turnaround times, new aircraft backlogs and passenger growth support spare engine demand.
- The GCC region drives demand through its fast-growing airlines and aviation hubs.
- Rohit Dhote, Partner and Co-Head of Credit Opportunities at Bridgepoint, said engines deliver cash-generative assets with differentiated return drivers that diversify LP portfolios.
- Hammad Younas, CEO of GFH Equities, said the partnership aligns with GFH strategy to deliver defensive asset-backed opportunities and marks its entry into aviation.
- Marc Younan, Managing Director and Head of Middle East Investor Relations at Bridgepoint, said GFH brings strong investment platform and GCC relationships.
- Mathew Adamo, Managing Partner at AIP Capital, said the firm welcomes GFH and will continue scaling the platform with respected institutions.
