ALGIERS, Algeria
- Domestic Airlines, a subsidiary of the Air Algérie group, has moved to a new headquarters on the fifth and sixth floors of the Bab Ezzouar Business Centre in Algiers.
- The airline announced the move on Monday, 2 November, saying it is intended to improve working conditions and strengthen performance.
- Domestic Airlines was created in July 2025 to strengthen air links between Algeria's wilayas (provinces), particularly between the south and the north.
- It operated its first scheduled commercial flight on 25 August 2025, from Algiers Houari Boumediene International Airport (ALG) to Tamanrasset (TMR).
- The airline is the successor to Tassili Airlines, which Sonatrach and Air Algérie founded on 4 March 1998. Sonatrach took full control in 2005 by buying Air Algérie's 49% stake.
- Sonatrach Holding Activités Externes et de Soutien (SAES) and Air Algérie signed an agreement on 19 June 2025 to transfer ownership of Tassili Airlines to Air Algérie, ending Sonatrach's involvement in aviation.
- Air Algérie made the transfer official in early August 2025, and the carrier was relaunched as its domestic subsidiary.
- Domestic Airlines has 15 aircraft in service, with an average age of 15.2 years: six Boeing 737-800s, four De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400s, four Dash 8-200s, and one ATR 72-600, delivered in July 2026.
- A second ATR 72-600 (7T-VUC) is listed as on order.
